Everybody's Spectacular: November field work in REK 101
Well, here it is. I was beyond blessed + I had the oppotrunity to return to Iceland for the November edition of the Reykjavík Dance Festival (+ Lókal) titled Everybody's Spectacular. I had participated in a workshop in August writing Feminst Choir songs, so I went back to sing them. This trip provided a few of the keys to fill in the gaps in my data.
Here's what went down in Rek-town (images by me, Gerald, and the festival):
I won't say a whole many about things about this, as I'm currently chipping away at chapters of this thesis. But know that performing in and viewing this festival helped solidify alot of things for me: many of these things personal about being an anthropologist, and a good number of these things about my research itself. I am so thankful to have had attended and I'm pretty excited to see what this city invites and creates as time goes on!
Takk,
Emily
